Heart of Kent Hospice On-line Charity Auction Event

I am very excited to say that I have donated some artwork to the Heart of Kent Hospice Charity Auction event at the end of October. As before, the auction is totally online so if you would like to bid (overseas art lovers are welcome!) I have supplied the links below together with a You-Tube video link of the last auction back in 2020. If you take a look, the standard of art is incredibly high and varied. Monies raised in 2020 was over £20k. Truly amazing!

Registering is easy, all you have to do is go to the website and press ‘Book Now’.

https://www.hokh.org/support-us/events/art-of-kent-auction-2022/

‘By registering your interest to view and bid at the event, you will have the opportunity to be the first to preview all lots listed for the auction with our exclusive online brochure, a day before the event goes live and ahead of the public.’

As with any independent charity with services costing £5 million to run, the charity is only able to achieve its goals thanks to the generosity of essential donations in the form of varied and impressive fundraising activities, vital gifts of time and the countless other ways of support. ‘Together’ says the charity, ‘we make a difference to the lives of over 1,700 local people and their loved ones.’

Incidentally my auctioned piece of art is a Limited Edition Fine Art Print with Certificate of Authenticity. It is #2/50 and is framed in a simple black frame.

Whatever Makes Me a Modern Girl’

The size of the framed print is 33.5 cm square

Heres that you tube link i mentioned https://youtu.be/Lde2H9FYIXE

So why not pour yourself a glass of wine and have a go at bidding for your favourite piece of art?!

Hand on HeArt auction event

August to November

For 3 months, you will be able to find a selection of my paintings and limited edition fine art prints for sale in Greenfinch, an art gallery style shop at the heart of Ticehurst village in East Sussex.

Greenfinch is beautifully curated by its owner, Jane. Stepping into the shop and you are treated to the most delightful smell of beautiful hand poured candles. Then there’s the visual treat of arts and crafts, from pottery and paintings to jewellery, books and greetings cards.

A visit to Ticehurst must of course include a trip to The Greedy Goat Cafe in Church Street or a coffee at Buy the Weigh, perhaps even The Old Haberdashery and pub across the road? Basically, the village is drop dead gorgeous and worth a visit with time well spent in Greenfinch!

Just to say...

…a very big thank you to all of you who visited and supported me during South East Open Studios. It was a real treat to meet such wonderfully enthusiastic people; from art lovers to serious art collectors, to hobbyists new to art, and to fellow artists coming along for a chat and a moment to ‘chew the cud’.

Thank you, it was very special.

Although SEOS 2022 is now over, please note my studio is open to the public 5 days a week If you wish to discuss or purchase a painting, please contact me to arrange a visit.

Artists Open Houses, 2022

It is always a delight and a treat to be invited to take part in AOH, Jane Palmer & Friends, No. 9 on the Fiveways Trail.

The final weekend is almost upon us - those 4 weeks just fly by - but people have been packing through the doors to view the paintings by Jane Palmer, Lucy Bristow, Pam Glew & myself, Ceramics by Stef Hunter and Sculptures by Nigel Hunter. Feedback has been amazing and we have seen many returning faces from previous years and many new faces coming along to appreciate the fine art on offer for the first time.

I am sure our finale will be amazing! And, we will be popping a cork or two post-show to celebrate a fabulous time

Filling the Gap (quite literally)

As any artist will testify, exhibiting your work is an exciting opportunity and such opportunities come in all forms; from traditional gallery exhibiting, taking part in a seasonal arts’ festivals or filling a public space.

So when the opp to take over GAP shop front came up, myself a bunch of artist friends jumped straight in! It is incredibly sad that our town centres are being depleted of brand shops as our love affair with online shopping grows. Yet, to fill the void, its a fabulous way to promote the creative industry and the local talent within it. Buying and viewing art just got a whole lot easier. Lets face it, you could pop into M&S for your underwear and then pop across the Mall and purchase a very affordable piece of art? What a fab slant on the shopping experience!

I find it totally heartwarming that artists are now given such great opportunities to get work ’out there’ in public spaces like this one, and same time inspiring and adding colour to peoples’ day!

Early next week (from 11th Jan) we shall be setting the space up. (Prices, contact details etc. on each artwork will be clearly labelled).

The exhibition runs until 9th Feb.

Venue: GAP adults & kids, Royal Victoria Place, Royal Tunbridge Wells, UK

Exhibiting partners: Evie Armstrong, Jess Chapman, Georgina Luck

You can also find all of us at the Bell’s Yew Green (Space2Make) studios if you wish to view our works, purchase, chat commissions.

Its worth keeping an eye on my ‘Events’ page for dates and venues if planning to visit.
